Aintree Golf Course
The name Aintree has more connotations with another popular sport, of course, but the Aintree Golf Course is also worth a look.
Also known as The Grand National Golf Club, for obvious reasons, the golf course is set in the middle of the racecourse with the famous sights, Beecher's Brook and Canal Turn etc.
The course, part of a public pay-as you-play golf complex, is a nine-holer. There are plans to extend the layout to the full 18 holes, again using land at the centre of the racecourses, alongside the famous chair and in front of the grandstands. For a nine-holer, Aintree is pretty long. The first hole, for example, stretches to 555-yards from the back tees!
