Functions
This is a municipal parkland pay-and-play course where you can simply pick up the phone the day before you want to play and book your tee time. If only every golf course was that easy going! Allerton Park features undulating fairways, which, for a municipal course are very well maintained, and a number of tricky approach shots to well guarded greens.
The first three holes are very tough so make sure you've got your wits about you or you could be left behind. The par three eighth is a memorable hole, where you play across an empty dyke to a sloping green that's surrounded by bunkers.
An added bonus here is the 'Buttie Bar' in the middle of the course where you can grab a quick snack - brilliant! It may be a short but it is challenging and for price and ease it is well worth playing.
