Aqualate Golf Club

Situated two minutes east of Newport town centre and just yards from the junction with A41, this parkland course is a delight to play throughout the year. It features gentle gradients, so is fairly easy walking, but does contain a number of water hazards throughout which can quite easily temper an otherwise peaceful round.

The 253-yard par four fifth is a great hole. Because of its short yardage, it is reachable for the longer hitters. The green, guarded by a bunker on the front left, slopes away to the back. This hole you only play the once on a circuit of 18 as you play the par three 14th on the back nine instead - you might as well have a go first time, then

A coffee bar and a driving range are the only facilities on site, but the price for balls and the green fees give great value.
