Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club

Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club is a great 18-holer situated roughly one mile to the west of the town. It is famous not only for its welcome to first time visitors, but for its striking panoramic views towards Manchester and beyond.

The inward nine holes at Ashton-in-Makerfield are particularly demanding (especially on a windy day) with some difficult driving holes through heavily wooded areas. Special care should be taken on the fifth, 11th and 16th holes - each one can easily have you ripping up your scorecard in a tempestuous fury!

A few slight alterations have been made to improve the layout of the course and, as the members will tell you, it gets better with every passing season.
