Functions
Bearsted Golf Club has undergone massive renovations in the last couple of years. The courser has been built to USPGA specifications and boasts new greens. The course is a real challenge, requiring accurate tee shots and it is well known amongst the locals as being fairly hard on golfers who slice the ball - there's trouble on the right on nearly every hole!
Interestingly, Bearsted Golf Club was the first full-length 18-hole golf club in the United Kingdom to start and finish with a par three. The first is particularly daunting off the medal tee. Slice it and you're in trouble, get on the wrong side of the green, and you're facing a nasty, opening three putt. A railway track runs down the right side of this hold, and along the back of the green.
Bearsted is a beautifully landscaped course, with great views of the North Downs, and the Kent countryside.
