Bolton Old Links Golf Club

Bolton Old Links Golf Club has been on the go since 1890 and, following much deliberation, Dr Alister MacKenzie, a resident of Leeds and the man credited with the construction of Augusta national, was drafted in to redesign the layout. A complete reconstruction of the course was undertaken, MacKenzie designing the new eighteen-hole course.

Emphasising the natural features of the boldly undulating terrain by astute bunkering, he produced a series of colourful and testing holes, laying out the course in two traditional loops of nine, so permitting starting from the first or 10th tee to avoid congestion.

This is where former Volvo PGA champion Andrew Oldcorn plays his golf.
