Bournemouth & Meyrick Park Golf Club

Bournemouth & Meyrick Park Golf Club is home to a historic and challenging 18 hole parkland course. The Meyrick Park course was originally opened in 1895 making it the oldest municipally designed and operated course in the UK. The 168 acre site has since gone from strenth to strength. In the beginning there were almost no trees on the course and yet today mature native trees and conifers line the fairways.

Over the years the club has been associated with a number of major amateur and professional events and today it still hosts the Bournemouth Open.

The first hole was once voted the hardest opening hole in the country. At this 244 yard par 3 you have two choices - take on the long carry over a group of trees to the green or play safe and take your likely 4.
