Brampton Park Golf Club
The Brampton Park Golf Club is a mature, parkland golf course and is one of the toughest in the county, so it is not a course to be recommended for a beginner! There are some quirky and fun holes to play that feature: big doglegs, huge trees guarding greens and plenty of water, especially at the signature par 3, 4th hole where you’re firing through an avenue of trees to an island green. Overall, it’s a nice parkland golf course if you can find your way round it – you have to search hard for some of the direction signs: we got lost four times!
Brampton Park Golf Club has hosted the East Anglian Championship five times and is a fine parkland venue with one of the most memorable short holes (the par 3, 4th) you’re ever likely to play. Its lakes and mature woodland abound with wildlife – the 16th hole is named Badger Alley because one of East Anglia’s largest badger colonies lives there.
