Charnwood Forest Golf Club
The oldest course in Leicestershire is this picturesque nine-hole treat, only a few minutes drive from the M1 motorway. Beautifully maintained and treated, it belies it 114 years, and the traditional, prominent Leicester granite which decorates it, adds a magical touch to the course.
The par four fourth is a potential banana-skin so choosing your club carefully is vital. With a water-trap between the tee and the fairway, and a sprawling bunker guarding the approach to the green, a scorecard's respectability can be seriously damaged over these 285 yards. Choose a low wood from the tee and a high iron from the fairway to steer clear of the obvious dangers on this hole.
