Datchet Golf Club

Running alongside the River Thames, Datchet is one of the oldest golf clubs in the tri-county area of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, having been open since 1890. It is just a stone's throw from the village so is easily found also.

Whilst it may, at face value at least, appear to be an easy course to negotiate, it is truly anything but. It may only be 6067 yards long but the par of 70 and standard scratch score of 69 is less than generous, and has humbled many a golfer who has played here. The nine greens are well protected by various hazards and the tree-lined fairways border heavy rough from which drop balls often result. Patience and concentration are key to scoring well here.
