Functions
Founded in 1920, Hillsborough Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the top courses in Sheffield. And, according to the members, Hillsborough has the toughest opening three holes in the country.
The first is 400-yards plus uphill with out-of-bounds to the left; the second is a neat par three with what can only be descried as an outrageous slope from back to front while the third features a hard to hit, narrow fairway. Not the easiest of starts by any means.
The course, which sits roughly 500 feet above sea level, features undulating fairways which are often susceptible to high winds, making some holes very difficult.
Great fun, whatever your handicap.
