John O Gaunt Golf Club

The resident pro at John O' Gaunt Golf Club is widely regarded as the man who discovered European Tour star Ian Poulter. Lee Scarbrow was working at Leighton Buzzard Golf Club when a young Poulter arrived late on the scene, and Scarbrow consequently made him his assistant professional, from where Poulter went on to enjoy considerable success from 1998 onwards.

The two courses at the club were designed by Hawtree and demonstrate all the classic characteristics of a Hawtree design. Both The John O' Gaunt and Carthagena have eighteen holes, although the John O' Gaunt is slightly longer at 6513 yards compared to the Carthagena's 5869 yards total length - either will challenge you to the full.
