Kingswood Golf Club has the great honour of having been designed by the former Open champion James Braid in 1928. Braid was a prolific course designer and was scared of flying so he spent most of his time designing courses in the UK. His designs have almost always stood the test of time and Kingswood is a fine example.
It is a flat parkland course but demands long and very accurate ball striking from many of the tees and strong approach play to the greens.
Kingswood can be quite heart wrenching at times if you don't hit the putting surfaces. It certainly isn't easy, but no Braid course ever is!
