Royal Blackheath Golf Club

The Royal Blackheath Golf Club is the oldest golf club in England. It is known wherever golf is played for its legendary date of having been 'instituted' in 1608 by the court of king James I.

Historic though it is, it would be misleading to view the club merely as a museum - Royal Blackheath today offers a stark contrast to the court of King James! It is a club existing in the modern world of golf, attracting members with what it has to offer by way of sporting and social life.

Its past is not forgotten, this lives on today in historic ceremony and artifacts unique to the Royal Blackheath Golf Club.
