The municipal course at Sherdley Park Golf Club may only measure 5941 yards from the tee on the first hole all the way to the pin on the eighteenth, but it offers a par of 70, which should suggest to you it is not quite as straightforward a round as it first may seem. There are plenty of testing hazards here that, unless played with due care and attention, will catch you out and lose you some shots. Water, for example, comes into play on several holes and there are some very testing approach shots to be played too.

It will certainly challenge you, no matter how proficient a golfer you are, and between £8 and £10 a round, it is excellent value for money.
