Wimbledon Common Golf Club

Writing in his book, 'Historic Golf Course of the British Isles', renowned golf writer Bernard Darwin said: "There is an old-fashioned air about golf at Wimbledon - it has at least one supreme virtue that of naturalness; those great clumps of gorse and the deep ravines where the birches grow were put there by the hand of Nature herself, who if she be not so cunning, is at any rate infinitely more artistic than any golfing architect."

The London Scottish golf course is shared with Wimbledon Common Golf Club. Both clubs start from a different hole. The original sevens holes around the Windmill were laid out by Willie Dunn of Musselburgh while his son, Tom Dunn, the first professional at London Scottish, laid out the 18 hole course in 1871.
