Danny Willett handed himself the perfect birthday present as he claimed an eighth European Tour win at the 2021 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The Englishman carded a closing 68 on his 34th birthday to get to 18 under and win by two shots, adding to his record of victories at some of the European Tour's most iconic venues.
Willett has won at Augusta National, Wentworth Golf Club and Crans-sur-Sierre to name but a few, and he can now add the Old Course at St Andrews to his list. Read more

More than seven years separate the former Masters champion’s maiden victory on the European Tour (the 2012 BMW International Open) and his seventh (the 2019 BMW PGA Championship). So he doesn’t tend to win too often. But when he does, he wins big. Read more

The former Masters champion went into the final round at St Andrews with a three-shot lead and carded a 68 to win by two from fellow Englishman Tyrrell Hatton, who led after day two, and Joakim Lagergren of Sweden.
"It's magical," Willett said of his eighth European Tour win. "On British soil, with everyone here. It's been a great week."
